Care & Maintenance
The pump can get debris in it - it is recommended to clean the fountain and pump when debris builds up. A cleaning every three months is usually sufficient, but conditions do vary. The water will get dirty over time, but a pond/algae treatment will help keep it clean and sparkling.
You can clean the fountain using a brush and cleaning solution.
When freezing temperatures arrive, the fountain will need to be emptied of water, the pump removed and the fountain covered for protection - similar to other outdoor items in the winter.
Be sure to monitor water levels. The pump motor can burn out if the pump runs dry. Allowing the pump motor to run dry is not covered under warranty. Windy days and dry water can affect the water levels. We recommend attaching a timer to control when the fountains turn
on/off.
Winterizing (Cold Climate Care)
Winterizing Your Fountain
To protect your fountain during freezing temperatures, follow these simple steps:
- Turn off and unplug the fountain.
Always disconnect power before maintenance. - Drain all water completely.
Empty the basin, reservoir, and any hidden water chambers.
Do not leave standing water—freezing water can cause cracking. - Remove the pump.
Disconnect the pump, clean off debris, and store it indoors in a dry, frost-free location. - Clean the fountain surfaces.
Remove leaves, dirt, and buildup before covering to prevent staining and moisture damage. - Cover the fountain.
Use a breathable, weather-resistant cover to protect from snow, ice, and debris while allowing airflow. - Do not refill until freezing temperatures have passed.
Reinstall the pump and add water only once the risk of frost is gone.
